1st Annual Elizabeth Denis Memorial Basketball Tournament a resounding success.

Staff, students and former Falcons welcomed teams from Eastern Ontario as Holy Trinity and St. Joseph’s hosted the 1st Annual Elizabeth Denis Memorial Basketball Tournament, formerly known as the Panther/Falcon Classic Girls Basketball Tournament. The tournament was renamed in honor of Elizabeth, Class of 2007, who captained the senior girls basketball team for three years and helped open our new gym in 2004 by taking our first ceremonial jump ball. She lived her life as a leader, in high school as a student, athlete and artist, and after leaving the Falcon’s nest, as a teacher and advocate who educated thousands who followed her on her “Lizzie’s lungs” health blog and Facebook page on how lung cancer can affect anyone.

All proceeds from the  tournament will go towards an annual bursary awarded at Holy Trinity and St. Joseph’s in Elizabeth’s name, celebrating excellence in academics, arts & athletics.
