Falcons win an unprecedented 15 awards at the 2018 Lions Club Athletic Awards Banquet.
Congratulations to all our winners. High School Award winners included Nicholas Chaput (boys cross country); Emma Vanderburg (girls cross country); Hannah Sommerville (curling); Madison Ruffo (girls hockey); Emma Bacchiochi (girls soccer and female track & field); Bailey Geneau (boys volleyball).
Community Awards went to: CUCBA Award: Kaelin Larin (top male athlete); BASEBALL: John Van Putten (Black Sox award); CURLING: Melika Marleau (top youth); FIGURE SKATING: Nadine Kamm Ramirez (top skater); GYMNASTICS: Victoria Simard.
Other Award Winners included: GIRLS HOCKEY: Brittney Ruffo (Brian Tardiff Education Bursary $500); JOE ST. DENIS AWARD: Jonah Poirier; IAN BRODIE BURSARY ($250): Nathan Burelle.
Special mention to Mrs. Tammy McAllister, who in the past has been our girls’ gymnastics coach for receiving the BENSON FRIENDS OF THE ROUND TABLE AWARD.
And finally, a special mention to Melissa Gilligan, Falcon Class of 2017, on winning the Jacques Richard Memorial Trophy, presented annually to the top sports personality in Cornwall and area.
